Pecans June 18, 2026

The pecan buyers mostly are covering their positions on an annual basis. Therefore, most buyers are quiet and prices moving in a very narrow price range. Especially availability of halves is limited while pieces are sufficiently available.
The pecan market remains interesting and challenging as processing is in the hands of a limited numbers of processors which are changing ownership regularly. On top of that, Mexico, an important producer, is having weather/climate issues for the long term. Hopefully this season El Nino will give them some additional rains but in the long-term water supply will be an issue (and water is needed for the plantations)
The first 2026 U.S. crop estimate is expected in the coming weeks, but we have to keep in mind that this is very subject as the storm/tornado season, still must come. Last year’s estimate was 288.5 million lbs., while U.S. 2025 crop receipts through April were already 289 million lbs. with four months remaining. So, this estimate must be handled with certain restraints.
