Cashews May 21, 2026

The cashew kernel market continues to trade in a relatively stable range, though with a slightly bearish undertone. Buyer activity remains cautious as global economic uncertainty and geopolitical tensions temper consumer demand. As a result, most buyers are limiting their coverage to nearby positions, focusing primarily on second‑ and third‑quarter shipments, while avoiding longer‑term commitments until clearer demand signals emerge.
Logistical conditions also warrant attention. With shipping routes shifting and transit times potentially extending, it is advisable for buyers to maintain coverage 3–4 months forward to mitigate supply‑chain risks.
On the raw cashew nut (RCN) side, prices are under pressure, a necessary correction given that current kernel price levels are generating losses for processors. Processing plants are therefore refraining from taking long positions in RCN, which in turn increases pressure on traders holding stock and exporting raw nuts.
Looking ahead, the market may present selective buying opportunities in the coming months. Seasonal demand typically softens during the summer holiday period, which could create favorable conditions for well‑timed purchases.
