The Turkish hazelnut market seems to be ‘on hold’ at the moment, waiting for clarity about the involvement of the TMO on the new crop. Rumors are spread about a potential buying price of the TMO at a much higher level than today’s market, trashing the incentive for crop holders to make a move right now. While pricing of most nuts is under pressure, it remains to be seen which path hazelnuts will follow keeping in mind that there are a few powerful parties in play.
