The Turkish hazelnut market remains to be very thin, as both supply as demand are limited at the moment. After the largest user of hazelnuts bought some large quantities of kernels as inshell hazelnuts last week, the expectations for increasing prices gained strength amongst – the few – parties whom still poses some quantities. At the same time the demand from outside Turkey remains low, most buyers quoted to be well covered up to new crop. So far the conditions for new crop seem to be in favour of good development of the fruits, which is a positive but still a ‘meaningless’ comment as we still have an interesting period to cross before new crop becomes available.
