Cashew November 7, 2025

At the Vinacas meeting in Vietnam it became clear that the long term future for cashewnutkernels looks bright. Continues increase of demand, especially with the Chinese market picking up nicely, might even cause short supply  in the coming decade where demand might surpass supply. It is quite interesting to see the numbers as reported by the INC in the enclosed.

In the top table you see production (inshell) and in the bottom table you see consumption (kernel)!

In the current market we see stability with probably a slight upward movement due to limited availability and uncertainty around RCN prices. Tanzania auction started but with the violence post elections, situation is a bit difficult. Prices of RCN went up a bit and current kernel prices would not allow to buy at those RCN levels without losing money.
Smaller factories in Vietnam were limiting processing or even closing doors for the season and await new crop. Availability of RNC in the bonded warehouse in Vietnam is a question mark but general consensus is that it should be enough to fill the gap until arrivals of Tanzanian raw seeds and crops from Vietnam and Cambodia. It is our expectation that with all the knowledge of today, kernel prices might become a bit further in the weeks ahead but will move in todays’ price range.
