Pecans June 25, 2021

The market of pecannutkernels is in his quiet mode at the moment around the summer holidays. All is known about cold store inventories, most of the 2021 contracts are committed and eyes are on the new crop developments now. The state of Georgia had a bumper crop last year and is expected to be less than last year. Drought in Mexico and lack of water supply will be the reason for a smaller Mexican crop. Where the Mexican crop is becoming smaller we see increase in South Africa crop and this might become an interesting alternative for buyers. South Africa is currently mainly selling inshell but also checking on switching part to processed kernels.
Prices are stable but might go up after summer when we get some more information on the new crops.
