Brazil nuts November 1, 2019

The market of brazilnutkernels is very attractive priced. And although demand was hit significantly in 2017, we fortunately see consumers interested again as prices are favorable and very interesting in comparison with other nuts. Current crop is a bit cheaper than new crop (approx. Usd 0,10 per lbs) with prices on FOB levels just under Usd 3,00 per lbs. Those prices are, especially in US, awakening buyers who are covering bit by bit. In Europe buyers are a bit reluctant and hoping for prices to come down a bit further. Chances of further price decreases are slim though as they are close to bottom and the start of collecting new crop just a few weeks ahead of us. Collectors will ask for higher prices and processing units will try to increase kernel prices as the equivalent of the raw seeds will be higher. Keeping this all in mind, it is an attractive moment to cover 60-70% of your requirements for 2020.
