Origins / Growing areas
The main growing area historically is Iran, but the pistachio was brought to the US by Iranian people and widely cultivated. Besides these two main areas the product can also be found in Turkey and South Africa.

All origins harvest takes place around September.

Long Pistachio (Akbari) Available in sizes 20-22, 22-24
Long Pistachio (Ahmad aghaee) Available in sizes 22-24, 24-26
Long Pistachio (Badami) Available in sizes 24-26, 26-28, 28-30
Jumbo Pistachio (Kale ghuchi) Available in sizes 18-20, 20-22, 22-24, 24-26
Natural Pistachio kernel (red and cream colour)

US Pistachios
U.S. Fancy, U.S. No. 1, U.S. No. 2 and U.S. No. 3;
Extra Large: 20 or less nuts per ounce;
Large: 21 to 25;
Medium: 26 to 30;
Small: 31 or more.

Pistachios are packed in bags or cartons; net weight varies.
